The Fifth Link in our Member Enrichment Program is Alumnae Programming. Alumnae involvement is an excellent way to continue your experience and realize that, indeed, Zeta Is Forever.
Alumnae chapters should vary their programs, thus appealing to all alumnae in the area. Some groups find it works best to have a regular meeting day (example, the third Thursday of each month). Others offer more flexibility by meeting at different times and different days of the week.
The requirement for alumnae chapter status is to hold five meetings per year. These do not have to be business meetings! Your Executive Committee can conduct most of your business. Keep business to a minimum at the general chapter gatherings or keep the membership informed of these details by e-mail or newsletters.
Many successful alumnae chapters assign one program to a specific Executive Committee member. For example, the VP II/Membership organizes the Alumnae Recruitment event; the Secretary may organize the social event; etc.
The Resource Library on the Sisters Only site includes great ideas and instructions for Recruitment/Rentention, Service/Fundraising, Alumnae-Collegiate Relations and Special Interest Programming. Many of the programs were submitted by our alumnae chapters after they held a successful event. Don’t see your fun event here? Then contact the Alumnae Programming Committee to submit yours!
