ZTA is a private, voluntary friendship organization. Potential members must be regularly enrolled in a four-year accredited college or university and must maintain an acceptable scholastic average. Academic standards are set locally to reflect university requisites. Although not a requirement, consideration is given to potential members who participate in campus and community activities.
Zeta Tau Alpha policies regarding standards of conduct deal with issues such as alcohol, drug abuse, no hazing, out-of-town events, open visitation, men’s auxiliary organizations, required standards and enrichment and fraternity education programs, commercial endorsements and circularizing. In addition, ZTA’s membership in FIPG, Inc., a consortium of men’s and women’s fraternities dedicated to standardized risk management policies, further endorses the Fraternity’s commitment to a comprehensive risk management policy.
