Zeta Tau Alpha installed Lambda Theta Chapter, the 246th link in our Chain of Chapters, on Saturday, Dec. 10, at New York University in New York City.
Initiation of the 84 colony members was held Friday, Dec. 9, at Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church. Teams from ZTA’s Alpha Beta (University of Pennsylvania), Iota Iota (Fairleigh Dickinson University) and Kappa Iota (Moravian College) chapters conducted the services. Chapter President Olivia Segarra was initiated on Saturday morning, Dec. 10, before the Chapter Installation and Installation of Chapter Officers conducted by National President Keeley McDonald Riddle and Extension Director Marlene Dunbar Conrad.
A Celebratory Luncheon was held for the chapter members, family, friends, alumnae and university guests at the Hilton New York following the chapter Installation. Mrs. Conrad served as toastmistress for the event while alumna Roberta Wodenscheck was the installation chairman. Traveling Leadership Consultant Jessica Panzarella gave the invocation while Lambda Theta Chapter Music Chairman Chelsea Wood led in the singing of the “Zeta Prayer.”
Following lunch, ZTA Director of New Chapters for Lambda Theta Chapter Kimberly Zambito and NYU Program Administrator of Fraternity and Sorority Life Allison Wood welcomed guests on behalf of the Fraternity and university. Chapter President Olivia Segarra also addressed the crowd before Mrs. Riddle gave the keynote address.
Following ZTA tradition, Province President I-A Donna Willbergh and District President I-B Janet Jaeckle Bronocco presented Lambda Theta Chapter with gifts from nearby collegiate and alumnae chapters. TLCs Jessica and Brittany Lee presented Olivia with the president’s gavel and the chapter with the traditional silver baby cup, symbolic of ZTA’s newest chapter. On behalf of the Fraternity, Mrs. Riddle and Mrs. Conrad gave the chapter a silver tray and punch bowl.
During the celebration, Executive Director Deb Ensor presented the university with a $1,000 to NYU’s scholarship fund in honor of the chapter installation. TLCs Jessica and Brittany also introduced each chapter member and provided a video of Lambda Theta’s accomplishments this fall. Ms. Ensor closed the luncheon with remarks and a ZTA song.
