Extension is an important lifeline of the Fraternity. It links the links the past with the future and is necessary for the maintenance of a healthy and balanced national organization.

In 1898, nine young women had a common goal to unite members in lifelong friendship and to instill in them a spirit of mutual love and helpfulness, thus they created our beloved Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity. Almost immediately, the Founders fostered the dream of Fraternity extension, and by 1908, founded 11 new chapters from Virginia to Texas. Today, our Fraternity has 248 links in our Chain of Chapters.

We strive to continue our Founders' original dream of making Zeta Tau Alpha membership available to women on college campuses across the country so that they may “Experience ZTA.” To find out how to start an alumnae chapter, click here .
