Fraternity Communications Association Awards – 2023

ZTA received five awards during the Recognition Banquet for work completed in 2022. Additionally, ZTA staff members and alumnae were among the group's elected and appointed leaders.

2023 Winners

First place, Social Media Engagement
@ztafraternity

This category judges overall engagement across a group's social media platforms, regardless of the organization's size and which platforms are used. Entries are judged on specific metrics provided by applicants.

An FCA judge said, “They showcase their expertise when it comes to social media engagement, as they know what kinds of content is best suited to each platform. They don't just put content out, they also engage with their audiences."

First place, Alumni/Alumnae Engagement
Zeta Day in a Box: Better Together

This award honors outstanding efforts to improve an existing publication. The publication must have undergone significant change during the judging timeframe of the 2021 calendar year.

An FCA judge said, “Overall, the campaign is fantastic and love all the design work your team put in to make this whole thing feel like Zeta Tau Alpha from start to finish. It seems like this was extremely successful for you."

First Place, Annual/Biennial Report
Biennial Report 2020-2022

This award honors outstanding efforts in presenting material for an annual/biennial report. Entries are judged on organization, attractiveness, and relevance to the intended audience and purpose.

An FCA judge said, "This was presented perfectly. I did not feel overwhelmed by a 22 page document and it read very easy, while highlighting a lot of information."

First Place, Critics' Choice - Social Media Single Post
Let's Spell it Out: Halloween

Critics’ Choice Awards are voted on by FCA members and are coveted because winners are recognized by peers. This particular award recognized an outstanding social media post.

Second Place, Specific Purpose Website
Let's Spell it Out: Halloween ZTADayofGiving.org

This award honors outstanding efforts in communication for a specific purpose through a website. Entries are judged on excellence in overall content, design, creativity, and navigation.

An FCA judge said, "This group goes above and beyond by incorporating multimedia, from the responsive buttons (personal favorite) to several videos making information fun to absorb."

ZTA Involvement in FCA

ZTA alumna and Zeta Beta Tau Fraternity's Chief of Staff Andrea Smithson Benek (Beta Theta Chapter, Franklin College) concluded her term as FCA Board President and moved into the Past President role on the Board.

FCA Vice President - Operations Ashley Sherman and FCA Director of Marketing Hailey Rogers both concluded a two-year term on the Board.

Alpha Kappa Psi's Associate Director of Communication Liz Vickers Buttner (Beta Psi, Stetson) served on the FCA Marketing Committee as Digital Communications Chair.
