Think Pink® Events
Each year, Zeta Tau Alpha chapters across the country host Think Pink® events and distribute pink ribbons to engage their communities and campuses and to raise awareness of breast cancer.
Here are a few resources that will help you plan your chapter’s Think Pink event:
Below are a few examples of pink events your chapter could host. Before you begin planning, ensure you have approval from your National Officer and advisors:
Pink Out game: Partner with your campus and/or local professional or high school team(s) to host a Pink Out game. Many sports teams hold an annual breast cancer awareness game and are happy to partner with ZTA. Your members can pass out Think Pink ribbons and interact with fans. These events are meant to raise awareness; fundraising should not take place.
Pink 5K: Chapters across the country host 5Ks and fun runs/walks to help spread awareness and raise money for the ZTA Foundation. This is a great way to get your campus community involved with our philanthropy. Your chapter can put its own unique spin on a run with a fun theme, like a color run or a run with pets.
Pink pancakes: Everyone loves pancakes! Grab your sisters, some pancake batter and pink food coloring and host a Think Pink pancake breakfast to raise money for the Foundation. This event is a good fundraising idea for chapters hosting Think Pink Weeks on their campuses.
Big Man on Campus (BMOC): Big Man on Campus events can be a fun way to get the whole fraternity/sorority community involved in fundraising for the Foundation. BMOCs can be big or small, but they are guaranteed to be fun. Contestants can earn points by raising funds, showing off their talents and anything else the chapter wants to add to make it unique. Many chapters that hold BMOCs also take the time to honor survivors and remember fighters during the event. Many also feature a speaker who has been directly affected by breast cancer.
Restaurant percentage night: Many restaurants offer percentage nights where they partner with your chapter and donate a percentage of their profits from everyone who comes in that day and mentions ZTA. This can be a quick and easy way for chapters to raise money for the Foundation and also to get ZTA’s name out in the local community.
Sports tournaments: Softball, flag football and kickball are all fun ways for your chapter to raise money and awareness. Encourage the fraternity/sorority and campus community to enter the tournament as teams and spend an afternoon outside getting exercise while supporting Think Pink efforts.
