Day of Giving 2020
October is a month that has grown to be very important to Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity.
In October 1898, ZTA’s nine Founders were determined not to be “only a club.” They dreamed of growing stronger and greater and having a far-reaching influence. Since 1992, that far-reaching influence of Zeta Tau Alpha has included nationwide Think Pink® efforts, especially during October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
On Oct. 15, 2020, the Foundation will establish a new tradition that will help ZTA become stronger and greater, an inaugural Day of Giving—for the Founders, for each other, for the future.
The Day of Giving will honor ZTA’s historic heroes, the Founders, by growing the Foundation’s scholarship program, providing educational and leadership programming for collegiate and alumnae chapters, and supporting the Leadership Consultant program. It will also honor contemporary heroes, breast cancer survivors, by helping to spread education and awareness about early detection and self-care.

Founders Challenge
To celebrate our Founders through this campaign, we are issuing a “Founders Challenge.”
We have a goal to reach 50 donors for each Founder. When we reach that goal for each Founder, we will reveal a little-known fact about her and unlock a $1,000 challenge donation from one of nine generous sisters.
When we meet the goal of 50 donors for each Founder, totaling 450 donors, we will unlock a donation of an additional $9,000 from former National President Laura Ladewig Landers.
That’s a total of $18,000 for meeting all nine Founder goals!
Members should be sure to check their email on Oct. 15 for more information and a link to the donation website. Follow ZTA on social media to celebrate the Founders and make history by participating in the inaugural Day of Giving.
Frequently Asked Questions
The mission of the Foundation to support our collegiate and alumnae members through essential programming as well as scholarship assistance is more relevant than ever. Your gift to the Foundation allows us to continue to support our chapters and to be flexible to meet needs as they arise.
We are honoring our nine Founders with suggested donation amounts starting at $9.00 and continuing in increments of nine. However, you can donate any amount you’d like; no amount is too small or too large for the Day of Giving. We value every donation for this effort.
Of course! All donations apply to your total giving for the current fiscal year, ending July 31, 2021, and to your Lifetime Giving. Read more here about our Annual Giving Levels and Lifetime Giving Societies. You can see your Lifetime Giving amount by reviewing your profile on Sisters Only. Please allow 2-3 days for your donation to show in Sisters Only.
Gifts given during the 2020 Day of Giving will be processed as undesignated so that donations can be directed to essential programming and educational support this year, as well as scholarships for the 2021-2022 academic year. In addition, your gifts help us continue to support all of our efforts with breast cancer education and awareness, not only in October, but throughout the year.
Donations for Day of Giving count towards individual giving only and cannot be credited to alumnae or collegiate chapter fundraising. Donations given on Oct. 15 for Day of Giving cannot be designated.
Our Day of Giving website will be live on Oct. 15 at 9 a.m. EDT. All ZTA alumnae with contact information in Sisters Only will receive an email on Oct. 15 with the website link, which will also be shared across all ZTA social media channels. Our website allows for secure credit or debit card transactions.
