A Day in the Life of an LC During a Visit
8:00 a.m.
Wake Up and Get Ready for the Day
My day on the road always starts with a walk around the area where I’m staying so I can take in my new surroundings. Afterward, I enjoy a long shower and get ready. Recently, my go-to products have been anything from the Rhode® skincare line. I love how using familiar products makes each new city feel a little more like home.
9:00 a.m.
Grab Coffee with a Chapter Member
I begin my workday by meeting a chapter member, usually the chapter President, for coffee. We chat about how the chapter is doing and where I can best support them. This is a great first step in identifying how I can help and working through any questions I may have. These conversations set the tone for my officer meetings and give me insight into chapter operations. I always look forward to hearing about their favorite parts of chapter life over a good cup of coffee.

10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
EC Meetings
Next, I hold meetings with EC members, either on campus or at the chapter facility. This is a valuable time for personalized conversations, allowing each officer to feel seen and heard and giving me a better understanding of how they are doing both in and outside of their ZTA roles. These conversations are centered around any upcoming events, such as Recruitment, sisterhood, ritual, or anything in between! It’s always inspiring to see how much passion and creativity each officer brings to her role.
12:00–2:00 p.m.
Explore Campus and Grab Lunch
At noon, I like to try a local lunch spot recommended by a chapter member. This is also my favorite time to explore campus as if I were a student and take in everything the school has to offer. My favorite stop is always the campus library, as it is usually one of the most beautiful buildings on campus!
2:00–6:00 p.m.
EC Meetings and Report Writing
After lunch, I continue officer meetings and spend time working on my LC report. We write reports about each visit, so I take the notes from my officer meetings and organize my thoughts during this time. This helps me reflect on everything I’ve learned throughout the day.

6:00 p.m.
Attend EC Meeting
I sit in on the weekly EC meeting that officers hold before the chapter meeting to go over upcoming events and activities. This time differs from the one-on-one meetings because I get to see how the officers work together to benefit the chapter. I enjoy watching them collaborate and work together to grow as leaders. During this time, I love connecting with the General Advisor to share my observations and recommendations with them and the entire EC.

7:00 p.m.
Attend Chapter Meeting
Next, the full chapter gathers for its meeting. I introduce myself, share what I’ve learned, and thank them for welcoming me during my stay. I love watching the members celebrate each other’s accomplishments and highlight upcoming events. I also enjoy encouraging growth and seeing how excited they are to be involved.
8:00 p.m.
Grab a Sweet Treat and Reset for Tomorrow
After the chapter meeting, I love grabbing a sweet treat with members and listening to their favorite collegiate stories. Once I’m back in my room for the night, I pack my bags, check in for my next flight, and spend time journaling about my favorite memories. This is a great time for me to prepare for my next visit and get my notes in order. Taking a moment to mentally and physically reset helps me stay grounded during a fast-paced semester.
