Time to celebrate Day of Giving 2023!
The Zeta Tau Alpha Foundation's fourth annual Day of Giving coincided with the Fraternity's 125th anniversary celebration. With the number 125 on every Zeta's mind and the theme of Sisterhood is Timeless, the Foundation stretched the Day of Giving over 1 day and 25 hours. The results proved that the generosity of ZTA sisters is also timeless.
Although considered an unlucky day, the Friday, Oct. 13, 8 a.m. EDT start provided good fortune. The extended "day" ended at 9 a.m. EDT Sunday, Oct. 15, just before the Founders' Day Service at Longwood University streamed live to sisters across the country.
This special anniversary Day of Giving prompted 1,929 donors to contribute $392,810 to the ZTA Foundation to support scholarships, educational programming, leadership training and philanthropy efforts.
Unique ways to participate
A new way to participate helped grow the success of the Day of Giving. E-cards allowed members to send Founders' Day greetings by email or text to special sisters for just $5 each. This fun way to share Founders' Day love raised $9,086.
Late Night With ZTA, a virtual party that debuted in 2022, was streamed online from Alpha's chapter room at 10:15 p.m. EDT Friday, Oct. 13. Host and sponsor Marnie Marlar Frazier and co-host Keeley McDonald were joined in person by the Presidents of ZTA’s three entities, several Alpha Chapter collegians and online viewers who purchased the $18.98 ticket to have this exclusive experience.
Thank you, Sponsors!
Sixteen sisters donated $9,000 each to the Day of Giving to become 125th Anniversary Trustees. For their generosity, they received lodging in Farmville, Virginia, for the celebration weekend at Longwood University and attended a special history tour with rarely seen artifacts from the ZTA archives.
