ZTA Foundation Commits $2.5 Million to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation

The Zeta Tau Alpha Foundation has announced a new $2.5 million commitment to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, furthering its investment in groundbreaking research aimed at preventing, detecting, and ultimately ending breast cancer.

The commitment, announced at Convention 2026, will provide $2.5 million over two years to support five innovative research projects through BCRF. With this latest investment, ZTA’s total funding to BCRF since its initial grant in 2022 will reach $4.25 million.

“For more than 30 years, Zetas have been committed to educating women and raising awareness about breast cancer. We’re proud to continue expanding that impact by investing in the research that will ultimately save lives,” said Carolyn Carpenter, ZTA Foundation President. “ZTA’s additional $2.5 million commitment reflects our members' unwavering belief that the path to ending breast cancer begins with bold scientific discovery. We are honored to continue our partnership with BCRF and the remarkable researchers whose work gives families hope for a future without this disease.”

In 2022, ZTA commemorated the 30th anniversary of adopting breast cancer education and awareness as its national philanthropy with a landmark Foundation grant of $500,000 over two years to BCRF. The grant supported innovative research using artificial intelligence to advance early detection and improve breast cancer risk prediction.

Inspired by BCRF’s focus on eradicating breast cancer through cutting-edge research, the ZTA Foundation expanded its support in 2024 with a $1.25 million commitment over two years. That funding helped advance research into early detection, improved screening protocols, and prevention.

Since 1992, breast cancer education and awareness has been the national philanthropy of Zeta Tau Alpha, which now also includes research. Through its philanthropic partnerships and the work of collegiate and alumnae members across the country, ZTA continues to educate communities, promote awareness, support those affected by breast cancer, and invest in progress toward a future without the disease.
