ZTA Generation Rx Mini-Grant Recipients Announced
The Zeta Tau Alpha Foundation, Generation Rx, and the Higher Education Center for Alcohol and Drug Misuse Prevention and Recovery have announced the recipients of the 2019-2020 ZTA Generation Rx mini-grant award.
Five campuses have received $1,000 each to support the dissemination and use of “Generation Rx University”educational resources through campus student wellness offices or other campus groups with a goal to educate undergraduates about safe medication practices. Campuses were required to partner with their Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life to provide at least 10 educational sessions, seven of which would directly focus on fraternities and sororities.
“Collegians today are facing an epidemic of prescription drug misuse and Zeta Tau Alpha is proud to sponsor Generation Rx to assist in providing education and awareness,” said Zeta Tau Alpha National President Alicia Patten Williams. “The battle with prescription drug misuse needs continued and ongoing support and we are committed to assisting campuses as they deliver prevention messages to their collegiate communities.”
Congratulations to the following campuses:
- Duquesne University
- Saint Augustine’s University
- University at Albany, SUNY
- University of Mount Union
- University of Rhode Island
The Higher Education Center will continue to administer the implementation grant process and offer technical assistance to Zeta Tau Alpha chapters in the use of Generation Rx University resources, as well as campus organizations receiving implementation grant funding. This is the third cycle of this grant. Applications for a new cycle will be available in the spring of 2020.
