ZTA Mourns Loss of Sister at Shorter University
With tremendous sadness, Zeta Tau Alpha grieves the death of Catherine Rowan, a beloved member of Kappa Chi Chapter at Shorter University, who passed away Monday, March 10, 2025.
Catherine, 19, from Kennesaw, Georgia was a sophomore year studying nursing. She served as the chapter’s Vice President Administration & Academic Achievement while also remaining heavily involved in the school’s Baptist Collegiate Ministries, the line dancing club, and the Student Art League.
“Catherine was everybody’s favorite person. Joy radiated from her, and she always had the most positive outlook on life,” said chapter President Natalie Tankersley. “She was always raising the mood and keeping us laughing. She would send us encouraging messages when we were low. More than anything, I believe Catherine embodied everything it means to be a Zeta.”
Zeta Tau Alpha sends its deepest sympathies to Catherine’s family during this difficult time.
Chapters and individuals who wish to offer condolences to Kappa Chi Chapter may send them to International Office:
