ZTA Mourns Loss of Sister at Stephen F. Austin State University

Zeta Tau Alpha mourns the passing of Katherine Heestand, a beloved member of Theta Eta Chapter at Stephen F. Austin State University, who passed away Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2024.

Katherine, 19, from Round Rock, Texas, was a sophomore who joined ZTA in April 2024. In addition to ZTA, she was involved in AXEperience, a university-sponsored student organization, as well as the Student Activity Association.

“Katherine was always ready to make new friends and didn't shy away from showing her full heart in every conversation,” said Ellie Rogers, the chapter’s VP Programming. “She loved deeply. She was truly a light in our chapter and made sure everyone had a smile on their face.”

Zeta Tau Alpha’s deepest sympathies are with Katherine’s family during this difficult time.
