ZTA Mourns Loss of Sister at The University of Texas at Tyler

Zeta Tau Alpha grieves the death of Mariana Lozano, a beloved member of Lambda Sigma Chapter at The University of Texas at Tyler, who passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2025.

Mariana, 22, from Van, Texas, was a nursing major expected to graduate this summer. She previously served the chapter as Vice President Harm Reduction and Judicial Chair and served the Panhellenic community as a Gamma Chi and Panhellenic President.

The chapter shared this sentiment: “Mariana embodied all the best parts of what it means to be an amazing human. Her unwavering kindness and humble nature are what made her a core part of the chapter. She had a patient, calm approach to leadership which made her a role model for her sisters. She was, and will continue to be, loved by all.”

Zeta Tau Alpha sends its deepest sympathies to Mariana’s family during this difficult time.
