Ellie Collier: Stunt Sister

Ellie Collier, a sister of Alpha Upsilon Chapter, began her college career as an acting major at Oklahoma State University.

A memorable moment in Ellie’s career at OSU was performing in the play, “How I Learned to Drive,” by Paul Vogel. This performance was a catalyst for getting Collier out of her comfort zone.

“It was a really cool experience because the artistic director for Shakespeare Dallas came to guest direct that production. I was working at a domestic violence shelter at the time and the prevention department and the play just touched on a bunch of different, really important themes. My co-workers came to watch it, and it was just a very powerful experience,” says Ellie.

When Ellie moved to Los Angeles and transferred to Hussian College In Studio, it took one instructor, Brian Dahner, who worked with stars like Ben Barnes and Natalie Portman, to motivate Ellie’s pursuit of stunting after taking his Stage Combat class.

“He's just the greatest person, and I wanted to continue working with him. So every week I do training, and we've done a bunch of different videos, and I actually did my first paid acting gig as a zombie for a sequel,” said Ellie. “It was super fun, and I wanted to continue doing it. It's my longest creative pursuit that I've done in Los Angeles.”

The sequel was “Deadlocked: Dad of the Dead,” the story of an accountant that takes on a zombie outbreak with his daughter. Ellie was also a part of “Assassins: Iron Winter” and “The Art of Healing.”

Ellie’s next career pursuit is more on the artistic side of performing where she hopes to bring an original story to life.

“I have really gravitated towards writing stories that really mean something personally to me,” said Ellie. “A goal of mine right now is to write a series that gets picked up and I'm able to sell it, and then I can ideally perform in it in some way, shape or form.”
